Whenever someone asks me what I do, or how I got into this work I always feel like it’s hard to explain, but basically…

I started massage therapy school at 18. When I was younger I think I had a lot of fear around being seen as a “whack-a-doo” or “weirdo” but as I have become more comfortable with myself and life itself I have also become a more effective practitioner, business person and teacher.

I joke to my friends that I am working on my Phd in ‘Hippie”. I love learning and teaching. I have studied and taught Massage Therapy, Yoga, Reiki, Shamanic healing, Feng Shui and Astrology over the past 20 years. Energy fascinates me and I am constantly making connections between different systems and theories of energy.

This holistic approach helps bring clarity and understanding to my own healing journey as well as my practice with others. I have been very fortunate to have amazing teachers, guides and mentors throughout my life, who have helped me to integrate my experiences, trauma, visions and gifts which has allowed me to come more wholly into myself as a practitioner and intuitive.

Coming out as queer and allowing my identity to be a strength instead of a weakness has also deeply informed my work. As Audre Lorde said. “When I dare to be Powerful to use my strength in the service of my vision - then it becomes less and less important whether or not I am unafraid.”

 

In my life and in my practice I attempt to do as Rumi advised, “Walk the mystical path with practical feet”. Beyond healing work I have a foot in the business world of Real Estate and I am working on my MBA with a focus in Sustainability. I am also an artist, with a background in film and interactive design, I mostly work in sculpture and light, you can check out some of my work here.
